We Care NSW is an Aboriginal owned and operated for purpose organisation that is dedicated to providing high quality, culturally appropriate services for our clients in the disability, mental health and children and family sectors
We support individuals to achieve their own goals and increase their capacity to actively engage in their community, education, employment and cultural activities
Our distinctive approach lies in our dedication to truly understanding each participant as an individual. We acknowledge and embrace their unique identity, with their own set of hopes, dreams, aspirations, and a lived experience of trauma, mental health challenges or disabilities.
We provide care and support to all members of the community and aim to be a provider of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse people. This support extends to aiding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to transition onto the NDIS. We are fortunate to have a number of Aboriginal services and a skilled and capable workforce to provide this much needed support in our communities.
Our Story
TRH Psychology and Cultural Consultancy Service (TRH), an Aboriginal owned and operated business, was established in 2014. TRH was formed to meet the growing need of people living with a disability, following feedback from local community members requesting a service truly committed to caring for people living with a disability in the Maitland and surrounding areas.
TRH was part of a solution to improve the quality and experience of care for community members accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
In 2018 We Care NSW was born through a partnership with TRH, the name was selected as it represented the core guiding principle of the organisation. The name serves as a reminder to our organisation, participants, stakeholders and community of what we stand for and our service guarantee.
Being at the forefront of the NDIS and its pilot in the Hunter region our team is approaching ten years of NDIS service provision. During that time we have assisted people in our community to understand and overcome factors that prevent them from engaging in the NDIS. We are proud to be continuing in our provision of high-quality, targeted services based on trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice principles.
