We Care NSW sponsor the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Psychologists

We Care NSW are proud to introduce their sponsorship of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarships. There will be three shaping future scholarship opportunities with the University of Newcastle (UoN) – two for those completing their Masters in Clinical Psychology and another dedicated to a student completing their undergraduate degree in Psychology.

The establishment of these scholarships are the first dedicated to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people pursuing a career in Psychology. The scholarships have an additional benefit of undergoing placements within the organisation and the opportunity of support for their entry into the workforce.

We Care NSW is an Aboriginal owned and operated for purpose organisation committed to supporting our next generation of Indigenous psychologists. Through our scholarship we are looking to offer support to complete clinical registrar program for clinical psychologists in training and employment as a behaviour support practitioner for undergraduates at the successful completion of their studies.

As an organisation we are dedicated to providing person centred and trauma informed therapeutic services that support participants to set and achieve their individual goals and build their capacity to live a meaningful and fulfilling life. Our focus is on providing high quality, culturally appropriate services that contribute to and support individuals to achieve their personal goals and to build their capacity to fully participate in their community, education, employment, and cultural activities.

We Care NSW offers a range of mental health and disability support services in the Hunter and Tweed regions of NSW, including specialised allied health and behavioural support, community supports, accommodation services, domestic support within the home and community, support coordination, specialist support coordination, plan management and children and family services.

The closing date, to ensure these scholarships are accessible to those continuing their studies in the second semester of 2023, is Sunday August 6th, 2023.
